One of my favorite bands ever was (is?) Mission of Burma. Clint Conley was their bassist, and until now hadn't really done much since they stopped playing in the early '80s. He leads this band, including Chris Brokaw (Come) on guitar and Matt Kadane (Bedhead) on drums. Super engineer, Bob Weston, recorded at the venerable Q Division studios in Boston. It ain't MOB, less abrasive, but the melodies are Clint's usual coolness and the record is becoming one of my favorite new things. (www.fenwayrecordings.com)
