On their newest record, Jim O'Rourke recorded and mixed at their Echo Canyon studio, with Aaron Mullan assisting. Sonic Youth produced. John Golden mastered, once again. It has kind of a subdued sound, drums don't feel crispy, like most modern stuff, and while it never sounds "dull", there's a feel to the sound of this album that really works with the overall mood. One of their best albums in a while, according to many of my friends who make statements like that. (www.sonicyouth.com)
