Sam Coomes of Quasi is the Blues Goblins. One original song appears among severely frantic, disturbed takes on classic blues tunes by artists like Muddy Waters and Leadbelly. Sam played all the instruments into a Roland VS1880 except for some saxophone by Stanley Zappa. Some may call this a tribute to the blues, others might deem it sacrilege, but I see it as giving these classic songs new life without being too precious. Barn burner. Mastered by the excellent Tony Lash.
