Earlier last year I had the pleasure of mixing a CD for the Portland Cello Project. The album featured many guest artists, and one of my favorites was Musée Mécanique's version of their song "Under Glass", which also appears on this album with fewer cellos. Micah Rabwin and Sean Ogilvie are the core of the band, with their soft voices and crafty arrangements. The music is a sort of airy folk style, not too far from Nick Drake, but with a constantly shifting array of instruments. They recorded this album at home on their own and had Tucker Martine mix it at his Flora Studios in Portland. I really enjoy the feel of this record - it seems they captured perfectly what they do best. (museemecanique.us) -LC
