Every year Jeff Carroll at Bluefield Mastering sends me a really cool comp CD of Christmas music from Raleigh NC area artists that usually gets to me about three days after our Nov/Dec issue has printed. Reviewing it in January would be kinda' pointless so this year Jeff made sure I got a copy hot off the replicator and it just made the deadline. As you can tell from the title, this year's album has a kid friendly theme. It's a fun listen, with my favorite tracks being The Beast's hip- hop flavored "The Black Candle" and The Desmonds power poppy "One Wish This Christmas" (Jeff wrote and sang on this track!). The first three collections are still available in limited quanities and all the proceeds go to the Community Music School of Raleigh. www.hollyraleighkidsmas.org. -JB
