Brian Joseph "Danger Mouse" Burton co-wrote and co-produced the seventh Black Keys studio album with band members Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach. There's something really great and crunchy about listening to this record on pro headphones. Bumpy low-end, wide panning of mid-range instruments, distorted vocals, rattling snares, nasty organs, stereo handclaps, room-amped vox, and over-compression popping up when needed. Oh yeah, great songs as well. Recorded from March to May, 2011, at Dan's newly relocated (from Akron, Ohio) Easy Eye Sound System in Nashville, Tennessee. Outstanding. By the way, when is Danger Mouse gonna sit down for an interview with Tape Op?
